Routine Habit is a habit-tracking app for iPhone, Apple Watch, Android, and Wear OS, designed to work entirely on your device. This policy explains what data the app handles and — just as importantly — what it does not.
Routine Habit has no backend server and does not require you to create an account or sign in. All of your habit data — names, schedules, logs, and streaks — is stored locally on your device: in Apple's SwiftData framework on iOS, and in a local SQLite database (Room) on Android.
Routine Habit does not use analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind on any platform. No usage data is collected or transmitted.
Routine Habit does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all — all data stays on your device or in your own iCloud or Google backup.
If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your habit data is synced between your own devices using your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. This data is stored in your iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and is never sent to or accessible by the developer.
If you use the Apple Watch companion app, your habit data syncs directly between your iPhone and your paired Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. No server is involved — data never leaves your own devices.
Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Apple Watch widgets read a local snapshot of your data from a private App Group container on your device, shared only between Routine Habit and its own widget extensions.
Routine Habit uses Apple's local notification framework to remind you about your habits. No notification content is sent to or processed by any third-party service.
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. The developer never receives or stores your payment information.
Android's Auto Backup may copy your habit database and app settings to your own Google account backup, and to a new device when you transfer or restore. This is controlled by your device's backup settings, is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, and is never sent to or accessible by the developer. Reminder scheduling state and purchase cache are not backed up.
If you use the Wear OS companion app, your habit data syncs directly between your phone and your paired watch using Google Play services' Wearable Data Layer. No server operated by the developer is involved — data never leaves your own devices. Home screen widgets read your habit data locally on the device.
Routine Habit uses local notifications to remind you about your habits. It requests the notification permission to show them, the exact alarm permission (where available) to deliver reminders on time, and the boot-completed permission to restore your reminders after a restart. Nothing about your reminders is sent off your device.
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Google through Google Play Billing. The developer never receives or stores your payment information.
You can export your data to a file from Settings. You choose where the file is saved or shared; the app does not upload it anywhere.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised effective date.
